North Kingstown, RI-(August 15, 2005) – Toray Plastics (America), Inc. announces that CPG’s (consumer product goods manufacturers) are now using Torayfan® CBS heat-sealable clear barrier film and Torayfan® CBP non-sealable clear barrier film to improve product freshness at original code dates and to extend the shelf life of packaged snack foods. Converters and end-users can now create cost-effective, high performance, non-coated biaxially-oriented polypropylene (BOPP) packaging that reduces moisture vapor transmission rates (MTVR) by up to 50 percent, offers maximum freshness, and has better aesthetic performance than ordinary OPP laminations. Toray Plastics (America), Inc.’s Torayfan® CBP and CBS Clear Barrier BOPP films, made with proprietary resins, also offer greater strength and improved feel compared to standard BOPP films.
